'Beautifully, Apologetically Plastic' iPhone, Fingerprint Scanner, and Off-beat Motion Sensor: All the New by Apple

Recently Apple showcased its new iOS, iPhone 5C, and iPhone 5S products.

iPhone 5S

Nothing was what we learned from Apple about this premium model. Information security, you say? Predictably, now you can purchase your iPhone not only in silver or grey, but also in golden. Apart from this slight modification there is nothing different between iPhone 5S and its predecessor, iPhone 5. The insides of the smartphone were modified though: now it has a brand new 64 bit A7 CPU with a video subsystem, which is 56 times more powerful than that of its forefather, iPhone 1. Really impressing, whatever it means. The device camera got better too: though the image sensor resolution is still 8 megapixels, the size of each separate pixel is bigger. Now iPhone 5S can pick the best shot out from a pack of photos. Videos can be shot at 120 frames per second, which will most probably result in an endless flow of time-lapse motion videos flooding Instagram. However, the most interesting new feature that Apple added is a fingerprint scanner that is built into Home button. You can read more about it below. Get familiar with the full list of the device specifications over here. The 16 GB iPhone without a service plan costs 9 (32 GB and 64 GB models are priced at 9 and 9, correspondingly).

iPhone 5С

iPhone 5C rear panels are made of polycarbonate and come in five colors: yellow, light blue, white, green, and pink. 'Jony' Ive, the Senior Vice President of Design at Apple Inc, stamped the new model as 'apologetically plastic'. The home screen color will be similar to that of the smartphone case, which is a really fancy perk. Its insides are not really different from iPhone 5, but predictably the model was deprived of all key features that iPhone 5S has: there are no fingerprint scanner and up-to-date photography options. The cheapest iPhone 5C without a service plan costs 9. Looks like its price is the main tidbit that the device presentation brought. iPhone 5C was meant to become the main rival for budget Android smartphones in developing countries. In the end, it turned out that iPhone 5C is just 100 bucks cheaper than 5S. It is quite obvious that it will cost at least 0 more in Russia. Be sure to review the full list of the device specifications over here. The 16 GB iPhone 5C is priced at 9, while the device with the double memory size is traditionally 0 more expensive.

Sales of iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will start on September 20 in the US, UK, China, Japan, Germany, France, and several other countries. Official models will most probably be available for sale in Russia early in December. Also, Apple is partially updating the model line-up and—apparently as it is—gives up on iPhone 5. However, iPhone 4S will be sold for another year as a budget model. iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will be powered by the new bloomy iOS7, while those who use older gadgets by Apple will be able to download and install the brand new OS as early as September 18.

Touch ID

Apple is trying to create a trend out of biometrics. iPhone 5S is unblocked with a single tap on Home button, which has a fingerprint scanner built in it. That's not the only endeavor that Apple made towards doing away with passwords; now you can purchase stuff in iTunes and App Store exactly the same way. The only thing that crosses one's mind though that it is just another money squandering technique. But let's look at it from a positive angle: your kids will need to cut your finger off to be able to spend another few bucks on games. Apple gave a promise to store the fingerprint data only on your smartphone without aggregating it on proprietary servers. At least for the time being. Anything else? We think that this feature may just as well have a bright and promising future.
